Prior to starting Spring term, we visited a prosthetic shop in Northeastern Pennsylvania, and met with the owner of the shop. We talked to him about the mechanics of prosthetic arms and the materials that would provide comfort for the user while keeping the prosthetic durable and stable. Since the owner didn't have much time, we mainly focused on only a few examples. The examples that were reviewed during that meeting laid the basis for initial design. We are scheduling another meeting with him when he has more time, so we can have a more in depth conversation of primarily how a prosthetic stays on the arm.
